Seneca County Habitat for Humanity Dedicates a New Home

Seneca Falls, N.Y. – The Seneca County Habitat for Humanity board announced last week that the home its volunteers have been building since October 2016 is complete. This year’s family and volunteers worked through the cold winter months. The home, located at 114 East Elisha Street in Waterloo, was dedicated to the new homeowners on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at noon and they are due to close by the end of the month.

The event was a celebration of countless hours of hard work by numerous volunteers and the family. This year’s family, Ricky, Brittany and their children are so excited to be in their home.

“On behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Seneca County Board of Directors, we are thrilled to be able to turn over the keys to their new home to Ricky and Brittany. This family has been on site every minute of every day we have worked. Their dedication and willingness to learn and go the extra mile has been remarkable. Our families are expected to invest more than 500 hours of sweat equity; Ricky and Brittany have surpassed that requirement. We wish them much happiness for the future in a home they built with Habitat volunteers,” said Karen Simon, President of the Habitat for Humanity of Seneca County Board of Directors.

Special thanks to Thurston Services for the exterior work, the Arno brothers, Sparrow Heating and Plumbing, Caratozzolo Electic, Frank and Bob Didonna, Gary Reynolds and Ferrara Lumber.
